INDEPENDENT APPALACHIAN DESIGN FACILITY

Useful things
with teeth.

Grawlix Labs builds websites, software, visual systems, and odd little commercial machines for people who are tired of looking and working like everyone else.

Choose a sublevel.
Mind the machinery.

The lab is organized loosely. The work is not. Each department is built around one result: turn the rough version into something useful, memorable, and ready to work in the wild.

Recovered work

Proof from below ground.

Real systems, real websites, and actual tools—not a wall of invented agency mockups.

Interfaces, systems,
and things we found humming.

Not every experiment needs a case study. Some just need a label, a locked cabinet, and enough glass between it and the public.

About the facility

Small studio.
Unreasonably large ideas.

Grawlix Labs is an independent design and software studio in southwestern Pennsylvania, built around one stubborn belief: useful things do not have to be boring.

We work across websites, apps, internal tools, automation, and visual systems—especially when the problem refuses to fit neatly inside one department. No fake agency army. No six-week presentation theater. Just close collaboration and a strong bias toward shipping the useful version.

Bring us the
ugly version.

The outdated website. The repetitive task. The half-built app. The weird idea that keeps surviving every attempt to ignore it.
